The door

Scan tickets from a phone browser. Count heads live.

No app to install, no hardware to rent. Your staff open tonight's event, point the camera at each QR, and the admitted count moves on every screen at once.

Runs on the phone your volunteers already carry.

A night at the door

Three steps. No training session.

01

Open the event on any phone

Staff sign in, tap tonight's event, and the scanner is running in the browser. Nothing to install, nothing to update, no shared iPad to remember to charge.

02

Point at the QR

The camera reads the ticket code straight from the buyer's confirmation email — cracked screen, low brightness and all. Each read answers in under a second.

03

Watch the count move

Every admission updates the total live — on each phone at the door and on your dashboard inside. When the queue is gone, you already know the room is full.

When the signal dies

The door keeps working. Here is exactly what that means.

Venue Wi-Fi tends to die at 19:55, when the queue is longest. Venuo keeps scanning: every read is stored on the device and settles to the server when the signal returns. The count catches up seconds later, and the pace at the door never changes.

The limit, stated plainly

Two devices offline at the same time cannot know that the other one just scanned the same ticket. No system can — Pretix documents the same constraint publicly. Anyone who promises otherwise is selling you a bug you will meet at your own door.

What Venuo does instead:

  • First scan wins when the devices reconnect — one admission, counted once.
  • The conflict is surfaced to you afterward, with both scan times — never silently double-admitted, never hidden.
  • Assign one gate per device and the window disappears entirely: two doors, two scanners, no overlap to resolve.

The verdict

Readable at arm's length, in the dark, with a queue behind you.

Every scan answers full-screen, in one of two states. Color is never the only signal — each verdict carries its own word, its own icon, and its own next step.

Door staff

Hand a volunteer a phone — not your business.

Door staff get a check-in-only login. They see tonight's event, the camera, and the count. They do not see your sales, your revenue, your payout settings, or anyone else's events — so the person you met an hour ago can work your door without holding your livelihood.
